The Spring Valley Lake Association announced that its lake will be lowered 24 inches below its normal level from Oct. 14 through Dec. 1 for repairs to parts of the beach.
Because of the lowering, the association said there will be “no wake on the lake during this period to prevent any possible property damage while the water is low.”

According to the announcement, the association will be offering free slip usage for lakefront boat owners whose vessels are in the water during the lake lowering period on a first-come first-serve basis.
“If you are docking your vessels on the lake, please be sure to loosen your dock lines to prevent damage,” the association said in its news release.
Operations staff will be repairing the degrading beach on the east side of the swim area behind Diamond Head condos, the release stated. The fix will be to build a short 24-inch high seawall approximately 8 feet out from the end of the beach.
“We will then back fill the beach side,” the association said. “The sand bar will be removed and rebuilt with a 6-degree slope in front of the sea wall to accommodate boat beaching and minimize wave action erosion.”
The association also reminded residents that this is a good time for lake front homeowners to inspect their coving and make any repairs.
