The City of Palmdale has announced the following Road Construction Updates for the week of Nov. 25 through Dec. 1:
GENERAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION
– For Elizabeth Lake Road and Ave. P-12 Aqueduct crossings: The California Department of Water Resources is planning on completing a liner repair project along the California Aqueduct in Palmdale, starting November 29 and continuing through Dec. 20. The site of repair is just south of Elizabeth Lake Road near West City Ranch Road. In order to complete this repair, the City of Palmdale will be draining the canal through blow-off valves at two different locations. The first location is 50 feet north of Elizabeth Lake Road with the water going directly into Armargosa Creek. The second location is about 50 feet from P-12 or Joshua Ranch Road, which drains into Armargosa Creek as well. The first phase of the outage starts on Nov. 29 at 1 a.m. Due to drawdown criteria for our concrete canal liner, no more than 30cfs will be released through the valves for this outage. The main drainage will conclude on Dec. 6, with pump out ending December 13. The flow will be minimal.
