Not Your Grandpa’s Game of Golf

By Amsterdam City Tours

Not your grandpa’s game of golfOn Prins Hendrikkade at number 194, in the basement of Noah's Arq restaurant - the former home of Lasergames Cafe de Kluis - is a futuristic mini-golf lover's paradise.

GlowGolf Amsterdam opened in March of 2011. The glow-in-the-dark mini golf games allow you to "go back to the future in fifteen holes."

Step into the time machine at the first hole (not quite the DeLorean Marty McFly jetted around in, but hey, can you really complain about a time machine?). Travel to prehistoric times at holes 2 and 3 before heading to the Middle Ages for holes 4, 5, and 6. Meet the Vikings and hole 7, and join Poseidon at holes 8-10 (aka Atlantis). Scale the great wall of China at hole 11 on your way to the Wild West at holes 12 and 13. The trip ends in the future for the final two holes, posing questions like how the world might look 100 years from now? Will humans be inhabiting another planet?

Everything from the carpets to the designs on the walls to the various obstacles to the golf balls are done up in florescent colors which are brilliantly picked up by the UV lighting in the joint. There are also 3D glasses available for that little something extra.

Grab the Groupon and get up to a 65% discount for groups of 4, 8, 12, or 20.

Not in Amsterdam? Well, this is your lucky day! GlowGolf also has locations in Aalsmeer, Scheveningen, Middelburg, Loodsdrecht, Winterswijk, Houten, Rucphen, and Kerkrade.

Can't get to any one of those locations either? Never fear. GlowGolf director Maarten Baars has made sure you can play from anywhere with the online game. Download the app, and you can play it from absolutely anywhere.

Nope, this is certainly not your grandpa's game of golf!
