Alnwick Castle is lovely (they filmed some of Harry Potter there), although I do find it a little bizarre to walk around the inside of the castle, as people do actually live there. I think I prefer to wander around ruins than to walk around somebody’s living room.
There are miles of gorgeous coastlines to explore…
Berwick-Upon-Tweed is right on the Northumberland-Scotland border. You can walk for hours around the sea walls, explore some wonderful shops and be amazed by the swans in the sea…
It really is the kind of place you can just walk around and feel refreshed, although the weather can be tricky.
