The OV-10A was originally used in military counter-insurgency and close air-support roles before finding a new purpose in civilian life.  In 1993, CAL FIRE acquired OV-10As from the Department of Defense and operate 15 of them for wildfire air attack use. The crew then directs CAL FIRE’s air tanker and helicopter pilots where to make their retardant and water drops.  Hollister is home to one of CAL FIRE’s 13 airbases.  Nikon D7100 w/18-200mm, processing with Aperture.
