It took my third trip to this airshow to find time to visit the Planes of Fame Air Museum.  Saw this unnamed Mustang in their main hangar and was surprised to learn that the current owner/pilot is none other than Tom Cruise himself.  The P-51K variant was built at Dallas, TX and is identical to the P-51D except for being fitted with a four-bladed Aeroproducts propeller.  1,500 of this model were produced with 163 (including this one) being modified to a F-6K reconnaissance version, the F-6K.  This aircraft was donated to the Civil Air Patrol in 1946, before bouncing around several owners and undergoing two restorations before acquisition by Tom Cruise in 2001.  Nikon D500 w/18-200mm.
