A quartet of P-51 Mustangs make a photo pass for the fans at the California International Airshow Salinas. More than 8100 of the D-model were produced, contributing to the total of 15,000 Mustangs built for the war. After World War II, the P-51 Mustang served in the air forces of over 55 countries. The Swedish air force used 50 Mustangs that were interned there during the course of the war. The Royal Air Force operated theirs until 1946.
