No More Oily Face: Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder Review

I‘ve been looking for the best yet affordable loose powder for so long, I’m glad I could finally say that I finally found it. I swear this is a product you don’t even know you need! This is not just a loose powder, it’s a versatile product. Keep reading this Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder review and you might add this to your cart on your next shopping.

It’s very humid in my country, the Philippines, plus I also have oily skin so whenever I have a makeup on, it melts on my face in a few hours (two hours tops) even though it’s for oily-prone skin. That’s why a loose powder is very important for me. And I was also looking for a loose powder that I could also use alone, for those off days I don’t put on makeup but I still want a flawless-looking face. Because I’m tired of using Johnson’s Baby Powder that leaves a white cast on my face when not blended well. [FUN FACT: In the Philippines, we use Baby Powders specifically Johnson’s Baby Powder as loose powder to fight oiliness or sweat due to humid. It works and it’s cheap.]

What is its?

Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder controls secretion of sebum to keep the skin soft and fresh all day, it even claims to be a pore cleansing product and gives gentle exfoliation. It has Jeju natural mineral & mint (from Jeju Island of South Korea) ingredients that controls skin oil and moisture to keep the skin healthy. It’s suitable for oily skins as a replacement for oil control paper making the not only soft, but also matte.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: In the last stage of your daily skincare routine or makeup, use the powder puff to gently apply on the entire face of sebum concentrated areas. If you felt something “cooling” while applying it, it’s totally normal. The mint help with oil control.

Upon researching about this product, I also discovered it has other uses! Besides an after-makeup loose powder or replacement for blotting paper, you could also use this as eyes and lip primer to make your eyeshadow and lipstick last longer. You could also use this as a dry shampoo for those days your in a hurry. And since it has mint, you could also use this as a deodorant! Honestly, this is a must have in your bag! Especially if you often ends up sleeping over in someone’s place, if you know what I mean.

SMELL: It smells like mint, but does not sting. More like a mild powdery mint, not like those foot powders.

PACKAGING: Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder are packaged in a jar-like container with a top that screws. They are sold in 5g only, but sometimes Innisfree releases a limited edition 15g which is the one I have in this photos.

RESULTS: Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder does really leave your skin soft and matte without a white cast so it won’t affect your makeup. But don’t expect a coverage, after all this is only a loose powder, not a foundation. You’ll feel a little minty while applying it which I really love because it’s perfect to control your oil especially in a tropical and humid country like mine. I’m not sure about the pore cleansing and gentle exfoliation it claims though. I didn’t feel like it cleansing my pores nor exfoliating my skin, but I do know that this product doesn’t clogged my pores.

PROS: It has many uses, plus leaves your skin soft and oil-free. Does not leave a white cast and it’s minty, perfect for those with oily skin. But the best part is, it will not clogged your pores, nor affect the finish look of your makeup. It can also be use solely as a face powder for your off days. And oh, it’s also affordable!

CONS: It’s only sold in 5g jars, which is really small. You have to wait for Innisfree’s anniversary if they will release a limited edition 15g. It doesn’t have a mirror as well.

The powder has two sizes: the regular 5 grams and the limited edition 15 grams. But there are also two types of Innisfree No Sebum Minerals, the powder and the compact. The compact are sold with a mirror and comes in 8.5g, which is 3.5g more than the powder, but it’s really annoying to use. I’m not recommending this.

The compact is so hard, it’s difficult to get the product from the puff to your face. You will not also feel the mint of the product which will help control the oil. I was only able to use this product properly when my mom borrowed it then she scratched some parts of the compact to make it powdery. The only thing I like about the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Compact is the mirror, nothing else. But some people like, so if you like something with mirror and you don’t mind a hard compact product, then this one is for you.
