My Fox Chicago: Five people were killed and at least 22 others — including a 14-year-old boy — have been wounded in shootings across Chicago so far this Labor Day weekend, according to Chicago Police.

The most recent homicide happened early Sunday on the Near West Side. Two men, both 24 years old, were standing outside about 2:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Randolph when a black van pulled up and someone inside opened fire, police said. A friend drove him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The medical examiner’s office confirmed the death but his name still was being withheld Saturday night pending family notification.
