Nic's Fashion Finds: Brighten Up

By Nicelise
When you think of the 80s, you probably think of big hair, big jewelry, Madonna and Flash Dance. But something else you might think of are the neon colors that were so popular then.
Well, neon is back in a big way for spring and summer. And the best thing about the neon trend is that you don't have to look like you're dressing in the 80s. You can also go as bold or as minimal with the trend as you want.
My general rule of neon thumb is to keep the bright flashy colors limited to one or two pieces, depending on what those pieces are. Multiple pieces of stacked or layered neon jewelry can definitely work. But I wouldn't pair a neon shirt with neon pants, unless you want to look like you should be directing traffic.
I've scoured some of my favorite places for neon pieces that can easily be worked into your wardrobe that are all under $100.

This neon yellow Forever21 racerback tank is simple, but has a great mesh texture on the straps and racerback for a fun detail. This can be paired with jeans and sandals for a casual day look or you can wear it with a neutral skirt and pumps for a night out. Since it's form-fitting, I would pair it with a skirt that has more volume. $15.80
