The recent leak theft of celebrity nude photos has feminists all up in arms. Granted, the photos were stolen and we should all have a right to privacy, or so we think (ever heard of NSA?).
Celebrities and feminists on Twitter are outraged. Here’s some of their comments:
@PattyArquette: “Every time someone opens a stolen intimate nude photo of anyone. They are becoming a sexual molester. Participating in a group molestation.“
@chrissyteigen: “People have the right to take whatever pics they want on their own fucking phone. People don’t have the right to hack them. Is it that hard?”

@chrissyteigen: “Are you also a believer in “short skirt, get raped?” RT @InsaneYetSocial Doesn’t change the fact that it’s not a very wise decision.”
@JessicaValenti: “Women: Stand PERFECTLY STILL in your house wearing long pants abstaining from booze with no Internet and you’ll probably be okay.”
@JessicaValenti: “Don’t take nude selfies. Don’t wear skirts. Don’t drink. Don’t go back to his room. This stupid fucking list gets longer every year.”
@shananigins15: “I’m on the fence about the nude selfies, the rest of the list is just an attempt for society to try and control women.”
@PhoeLam: “The Jennifer Lawrence nude photo hack & the reaction around is why I STILL need feminism. #yesallwomen”
@maddielee13: “Because I should have the right to send my boyfriend whatever photos I want, without worrying about hackers, or persecution #yesallwomen”
@KarenEhler: “#IfMyPhoneGotHacked Stop treating women like property. Hacking nude pics = sex crime.”
@exfkaty: “Don’t want nudes leaked? Don’t take nudes. Don’t want to be robbed? Stop owning things. Wanna avoid being killed? Don’t exist in the world.”
I don’t want to debate the fact that it is wrong to hack cell phones – it is. What does confuse me is the fact that women think feminism will somehow end the world of criminals. You can tweet #yesallwomen, #feminism, and #freethenipple all you want – IT WILL NOT STOP THE CRIMINALS.
- “People don’t have the right to hack them.” Since when do criminals care about your rights?
- “without worrying about hackers.” Store your personal items the best that you can. #feminism will not stop a hacker.
- “Don’t want to be robbed? Stop owning things.” Then why do people lock their doors and have alarms?
- “Stand PERFECTLY STILL in your house.” Be sure to lock your doors though.
- “Wanna avoid being killed? Don’t exist in the world.” Criminals live for your existence. Don’t want to be a victim? Be prepared.
Is it really that hard to comprehend?
