When I moved to Manhattan in June the weather was gorgeous. It is currently similarly beautiful but at one point it was sweltering. My tiny apartment had a breeze, but that wasn’t enough to sleep well. I went to the local Bed Bath & Beyond and bought a small air conditioner. They only had a couple kinds and I chose the one with an Energy Star label. Good choice. A couple weeks later my electric company, Con Edison, sent me information about a Cool Cash program the company is running this summer:
Con Edison will give $25 to residential customers who buy an ENERGY STARÂŽ room air conditioner.
The company is offering the bounty to customers who make their purchase between May 20 and Aug. 30. Rebates are limited to two per account holder, and customers can find the application here:http://www.coned.com/energyefficiency/energystar.asp.
Today I got my $25. Not a bad deal. The program runs through August 30th, so there is still time to take advantage of the deal. It was very easy to apply and the check came surprisingly fast. It’s worth looking into if you’re a Con Edison customer.
