New year, new me. That’s how the saying goes…right? Well I have to disagree a little there because I don’t want a new me, I just want a better me. A healthier, more focused, more present, me.  Of course this is usually easier said than done, but my husband and I have decided that together, we can make small changes here and there. Together, we plan to boost our confidence, advance in our careers, strengthen our marriage, supplement our health, and take care of our bodies the way the need to be taken care of.

Being in the Army requires him to be mentally and physically fit; he has organized PT (physical training) three mornings a week. But me? Yeah I don’t do anything. I have done home workouts, I used to run, spin, Zumba, you name it. But after two kids, two pets, a house, and a blog, I haven’t been able to find the time. So this is our first priority; find time to workout together! Whether it’s me waking up and working out downstairs when he goes to PT, or working out together on his mornings off, we are committed to helping each other succeed.

Having toddlers means snacks and “kid food” takes up a lot of our cabinet space. Being home all day makes it a little tempting, so I plan to cut up fresh fruit and veggies and have a stock pile of nuts, cheese, yogurt, etc to combat my grazing habits during the day. For my husband, I plan to pack little snack bags with good food to avoid him hitting up the gas station for a mid-afternoon Snickers bar!

When I was pregnant and since I’m still nursing, I take pre-natal vitamins and calcium. However, my husband doesn’t currently take anything. After consulting with our doctors, we are both planning to start taking Ester-C to support our journey to healthy habits. Ester-C will provide us with the important immune support we need.*
Ester-C is located in the vitamin aisle and is currently on Rollback…even better, right?!
Why Ester-C? Ester-C contains Vitamin C metabolites, which help enhance the retention of Vitamin C in your white blood cells.* Once Ester-C is in your white blood cells, it stays there for up to 24 hours, which is longer than regular Vitamin C. It’s also specially manufactured to neutralize pH, so it’s gentle on your tummy. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/m3LGGo87d3_IJc1ydpWMKoZB_-xjUKKSPvfDmvFIRuMm793ZdINPrqjsHiVJy3jHAWu1H2bhRhGtIF7Y59P2o_0CIF_VUdLAhiTpo2ZI-XKTW3CIQ3qDb6HznQUfZETaZ8g
I’ve been working from home here and there but I want to make it a priority to put myself out there more in 2015. Whether it’s scouring the internet for freelance writing jobs or looking for something local around here, I want to take my writing experience to the next level. I also want to make more of an effort to focus on my photography skills and learn whatever I can to better myself.
The biggest part of this equation? Doing it together. My husband was away a lot last year, and we are looking to make up for lost time. By doing this together, we are able to spend our precious time in a positive way and motivate each other.  He’s my best friend and someone who brings out the best in me. Why not start this new journey together? Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and we are committed being our best selves in 2015.
How do you plan to rock out in 2015? What are your goals? Do you take any supplements?
