There is a new update for
the Nintendo Wii U, which allows players to view their top 10 most used
games/apps. This update is a quick start menu that is displayed right on the
gamepad. This update is designed so players can quickly start games and
applications as the Wii U is booting up. This update is convenient for Mario
Kart 8 owners in particular because the player can jump right into the game without
having to sign into the Nintendo Network and don't have to wait for the Wii U
dock to load.
Various other
features have been added with the new Wii U update; System updates can be
downloaded and installed while the system is in standby mode, and owners can
receive updates, notifications, and other alerts on the gamepad controller
while the controller is in standby mode.
The Wii U
will update will automatically start if you are connected to the internet.
Afterwards, owners can install the new update. Owners can also manually update
the system in the system settings under the System Update tab.
