Elk Grove Milling is proud to announce our newly formulated Stable Mix products with glucosamine and chondroitin. It is becoming increasingly popular for feeds to include sources of joint support, something that Elk Grove Milling has been doing for 31 years. When feeding at least 6 lbs. per day, (old product was 12 lbs. per day) our Stable Mix, Stable Mix Senior and Sport Horse Mix will provide your horse with 2000mg of glucosamine hydrochloride and 700mg of chondroitin sulfate.
If you have a horse with arthritis or you are concerned about him developing arthritis, consider EGM Stable Mix with G&C, Senior Stable Mix with G&C or Sport Horse Mix with G&C. Arthritis causes the cartilage surrounding joints to wear thin and degrade. Glucosamine is a precursor to the synthesis of collagen and glycosaminoglycan’s (GAGs) found in joint cartilage. Studies have shown that glucosamine provided orally accumulates in cartilage and is detectable in synovial fluid. Other research suggests that glucosamine works best in combination with chondroitin and so we have included both. You must feed a minimum of 6 pounds per day to a 1000 pound horse to get the benefit of the glucosamine and chondroitin.
