The number of Americans employed by the nation’s solar industry is just 119,000—according to the Washington, D.C.-based Solar Foundation, an independent research organization—but that number will continue to grow as more homes and businesses seek ways to harness the sun’s energy and cut electrical bills.
To help train students for this burgeoning market, Moorpark College will offer classes to those interested in pursuing careers in solar technology.
Aspiring solar technicians— professionals who install electricity producing photovoltaic solar panels onto the roofs of residential and commercial buildings—can earn an Applied Solar Technologies Proficiency Award Certificate this spring at Moorpark College.
