New Overclocking Record Set by AMD FX

Posted on the 14 September 2011 by Tftb @TFTB

AMD has set a new Overclocking world record of 8.429Ghz beating Intel’s previous record of 8.308Ghz. This record was set on AMD’s new ‘Bulldozer’ processor, the 8-core, AMD FX 8150.

This is really very impressive with the unlocked processor. But to make this happen then went from low air cooling to water cooling, pushing to canisters of liquid nitrogen and finally to meet the world record they started blasting Helium to lower the temperature.

Overclockers would be happy to know that with a mid- $100 air and water cooling system, AMD FX can easily reach 5Ghz.

Do watch the videos, reviews and AMD’s glorious feat written on their blog.
