The chart above is from the new NBC News / Wall Street Journal Poll -- done on September 30th and October 1st of a national sample of 800 registered voters with a 3.46 point margin of error. It shows the debate hurt Donald Trump. Before the debate, he was trailing Joe Biden by 8 points (Biden 51% to Trump 43%). After the debate, that gap has grown to 14 points (Biden 53% to Trump 39%).
