New Music from Neon Trees, USS, Soccer Mommy, Olivia Lunny, and Stuck On Planet Earth

The New Music Spotlight is back to kick off the weekend with five new songs that we think you're going to dig. We've got pop, alternative, and rock on the docket with a mix Canadian and American talent.

Give all five new tracks a listen, and if you find one you love, add it to your playlists and leave a comment telling is which song you picked.

Ready? Let's go!

Artist: Neon Trees
Hometown: Provo, UT
Genre: Alternative
Related Artists: Walk The Moon, Bleachers, fun.
Song: New Best Friend
Notes: Neon Trees' new album I Can Feel You Forgetting Me drops on June 26, 2020 - but we're getting our feel for what's coming with the release of New Best Friend. The track is a lot of fun and makes me want to move my body as it rolls through from start to finish. Get ready to bop.

"They all crazy, but crazy's my new best friend."

Artist: USS
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Alternative
Related Artists: The Beaches, Sam Roberts Band, illScarlett
Song: Odd Times
Notes: Long-time favourites, USS are here with the aptly titled Odd Times, and we're in. If you've been listening to USS over their career, Odd Times is going to fit really well in what you know and love. The boys get in, do their work, give us the sounds that we expect and want from them, and give us a song for the upside down times we're living in.

Via Facebook: "We started working on this song back in 2017 and it didn't quite make it on our new album so we thought we'd give it to you during these odd times that we are in."

Artist: Soccer Mommy
Hometown: Nashville, TN
Genre: Alternative
Related Artists: Jay Som, Snail Mail, Phoebe Bridgers,
Song: I Think You're Alright
Notes: Covers don't often make it into the New Music Spotlight - but Soccer Mommy's take on I Think You're Alright grabbed my attention right away, and so did her new project. The Soccer Mommy & Friends Singles Series sees the Nashville alternative artist hook up with other artists and cover each other's songs. The companion to this cover of Jay Som's I Think You're Alright is Som covering Soccer Mommy's Lucy, and now we can't wait to hear what comes next in the series.

Artist: Olivia Lunny
Hometown: Winnipeg, MN
Genre: Pop
Related Artists: Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Edith, TESSA
Song: Bedsheets
Notes: Emerging Canadian pop star Olivia Lunny keeps pushing herself forward with every song she releases, and Bedsheets is the next step. The track has a vulnerable singer-songwriter vibe to go with the pop production and vocals from Lunny. Give it a listen and get ready for more from her in the future.

Artist: Stuck On Planet Earth
Hometown: Vaughan, ON
Genre: Rock
Related Artists: Fake Shark, Hotel Mira, The Treble
Song: Ghosts On The Radio
Notes: Ontario rockers, Stuck On Planet Earth have been on our radar since we first saw them open for Scott Weiland at Canadian Music Week back in 2015 - and now they're here with a fresh song from their upcoming album Beautiful Nowhere (June 26, 2020). Ghosts On The Radio is a good time. It's a rock track with big guitars and hard hitting drums and the vocals aren't lost and it's what we want!
