Ready? Let's go!

Artist: Avril Lavigne
Hometown: Napanee, ON
Genre: Pop
Related: Kelly Clarkson, Michelle Branch, Katy Perry
Song: We Are Warriors
Notes: We Are Warriors is a re-titled, re-worked, and re-recorded version of Warrior from Avril's Head Above Water album, and it's for a good cause. The bonus to the good work and support the song (and you) will do, is that it's a great listen too. Here's what Avril has to say about the song and her mission...

"I felt the need to do something to honour all of the frontline workers who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. From the doctors, nurses, police, fire fighters, grocery workers, delivery services, all essential workers and the brave volunteers. I am humbled with gratitude and want to dedicate my new song 'We Are Warriors' to everyone putting their lives at risk to keep us safe. You guys are the ones that are holding the world up right now and we're all counting on you and relying on you. You are Warriors! We all need each other more than ever right now. Now is the time to fight and to stick together. Be kind, be safe, be a Warrior and support our mission at www.CharityStars.com/Warrior."

Artist: Evanescence
Hometown: Little Rock, AR
Genre: Rock
Related: Seether, Halestorm, We Are The Fallen
Song: Wasted On You
Notes: Evanescence has announced their first album of new music in nine years, The Bitter Truth, and just dropped Wasted On You as the first song from the record. Together with a 'shot at home in self-isolation' music video featuring the entire band, the song showcases Amy Lee's outstanding vocal talent and a music/lyric combo that hits hard. Turn this one up and enjoy.

I don't need drugs / I'm already six feet low / Wasted on you / Waiting for a miracle / I can't move on / Feels like we're frozen in time / I'm wasted on you / Just pass me the Bitter Truth

Artist: Dizzy
Hometown: Oshawa, ON
Genre: Pop
Related: Dear Rouge, SHAED, Ralph
Song: The Magician
Notes: Dizzy's new album, The Sun And Her Scorch, is set for a July 31, 2020 release, and includes the second pre-release drop, The Magician to go with previously released, Sunflower. The new track had me hooked instantly with the lyric, "One trip to Amsterdam, four trips around the sun, has it really been that long since your name was on my tongue?" If you've ever randomly thought of someone you haven't remembered in a long time, or found yourself in a conversation where an old friend/lover/partner unexpectedly comes up, maybe it will hook you too. Enjoy.

Artist: NIIVA
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Pop
Related: Z3RG, Prayrain, Alexis Lynn
Song: Love Games
Notes: Described as "throwback lazy Sunday morning vibes and future pop bass melodies", NIIVA is here with Love Games, and ready to grab your attention. With smooth and sweet vocals to go with the bass in the track, the song and video give listeners a glimpse of what we can expect from the emerging pop act as she prepares to offer everything she's got coming for us.

Artist: Shae Dupuy
Hometown: St. Catharines, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Alli Walker, Kelsi Mayne, Bree Taylor
Song: Hesitate
Notes: Shae Dupuy could barely contain her excitement online leading up to the release of Hesitate, and now it's here for all of us. The emerging country music singer-songwriter has taken big steps in her career since making the move to Nashville, and if this is the beginning of a new album or EP from Shae, we're in. Stay tuned!

Artist: Jess and Tay
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Sykamore, Kalsey Kulyk, Madison Kozak
Song: Two Alone
Notes: Recently announced as 2020 nominees for the Country Music Association Awards Group/Duo of the Year Award, Jess and Tay are here with a new single, Two Alone. The song is a sad, smooth, easy to listen to and hard hitting in the feels all at the same time. The duo shows us all why they work so well together, and a song that was written nearly three years ago now has a home with listeners everywhere.
