New music reviews: Robbie Williams, Neon Hitch, and more!Robbie Williams - "Candy"
It has been statistically proven that the only thing better than a song written by Robbie Williams is a song written by Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow.  "Candy," the lead single from new album Take the Crown, is no exception, with its jubilant and affectionate tribute to a female screw-up.

In fact, the lady protagonist of "Candy" sounds not unlike the lady protagonist of this song:

Which is amazing.

Neon Hitch ft. Tyga - "Gold"

Neon Hitch has a bit of a hit-or-miss history, but when she's on, she's very, very excellent.  Here's another very, very excellent Neon Hitch track:

Matt Cardle - "It's Only Love"

I hate that Matt Cardle has so many haters.  Guess what, you blithering cynics, I'm going to say this about Matt's new single: Journey-esque.  That's right, I said it.

JLS - "Hottest Girl in the World"
I realize how bad this song is.  I mean, it's not as cheesy as this, but then, what on this or any planet in the universe is?  There's a few qualities that redeem this song for moi: that JLS are the musical equivalent of the sweetest widdle teddy bears and I wuv them (making me quite forgiving); the afterglow of the Marvin/Rochelle nuptials; and that its very ridiculousness and shamelessness are rather enjoyable in their sheer over-the-topness.

Mariah Carey - "Triumphant" (Pulse remix)
I think we all heard the official, regular old single mix of this song with some level of disappointment.  We were all like, "MC, thanks for never stopping (because you don't stop), but this is just some previously unheard of rappers going off on tangents while you warble a bit about triumph in between."  I mean, it was kinda sub-"Through the Rain remix," wasn't it?

Have no fear, because here is the Pulse remix, which I hereby dub the real, official, serious version of this track because it is stunning and fantabulous, and blows that other weak version out of the waters of pop/r&b:

Jessie and the Toy Boys - "On with My Bad Self"
A rather infectious little ode to the perseverance of the ego.  And who doesn't love a lyric dissing plagiarism?
