New Music: Mumford and Sons

Posted on the 08 August 2012 by Indiequeenmaz @indiequeenmaz
Guess who's back after possible the longest absence in "folk music"... Mumford and Sons.

From what I've read on-line they seem to have been touring American non stop since the last album dropped, I'm surprised they even had time to go into the studio, with Marcus Mumford getting married to Hollywood A-lister and Ben Lovett trying to promote a west London style Camden Crawl. But they have magically made an album, and "I will wait" is the first single from the album. They have been teasing us with little snippiest of songs on their american tour but nothing was confirmed or release.

These west London Folk hero's will be welcomed back by most fans but for me this is just the same old hum drum standard Mumford and Sons. They haven't evolved, they haven't changed their style, if anything they have become more "pop". Obviously the American smile has rubbed off on them. I remember when they first came out, it was a breath of fresh air but now its just plain sailing boring. I hope that one day they will evolve into something special which I know they can be, but is also the media to blame? If a Radio station loves a song they overplay it until everyone is sick of it. Yes Radio1/XFM I'm talking about you, stop playing the same songs every bloody hour.

Their new album Babel will be out 24th September 2012.

You can listen to the new single here.
