New Music from David Lynch Featuring Lykke Li [video]

Prolific avant garde film director David Lynch’s forthcoming second album, The Big Dream, is due for release on July 15th. Today, though, we have for you the latest single titled, “I’m Waiting Here”,  featuring the dreamy, indie-pop princess, Lykke Li. In a conversation with Billboard, Lynch described The Big Dream as a “hybrid, modernized form of low-down blues,” saying that “most of the songs start out as a type of blues jam and then we go sideways from there.” The influence of Lykke Li’s “doo-wop drone” partners uncomfortably well with Lynch’s dream focused musicality. Once Li’s spoken word portion of the song comes to fruition, the collaboration makes you feel as though you’re melting into your own imagination. It’s very Laura Palmer-esque.
