New In: Diptyque Florabellio EDT

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
I have a confession to make. I am a Diptyque virgin. I have never owned a Diptyque product in my life... until now.
Every time I am surfing through blogs (which is a lot by the way, so leave your links for me to look at if you like!) I see Diptyque candles and perfumes in the background and over the past couple of years in particular I have been desperate to get my hands on some products but have always forgotten or budgets wouldn't allow (blame Zara...) so I was really excited to have this new release from them come popping through my door.
New In: Diptyque Florabellio EDT Florabellio is a new fragrance from Diptyque which is summery and floral but definitely has a bit of a twist. The press release says that it has hints of roasted coffee...yes... COFFEE!! I can't really drink a lot of coffee (unless it's decaf - makes me jittery, would be literally painting my walls at 3am if I had one too late) but the smell of it makes me go to a very happy place. I was majorly excited to take a big whiff of it and just inhale the roasted coffee and goodness but actually it doesn't have a strong coffee smell at all, which I actually am quite happy about and I'll tell you why...
As soon as this arrived, I opened the bottle and smelled it instantly. I would say it smells like my Nana circa 1990 but with a cool, modern twist. I have no idea if any of this is making any sense to you but this smells like a blast from the past but has an added 'present day' note to it. It makes me feel Marilyn Monroe-esque Hollywood star style with a hint of Olivia Palermo.  In fact I would say Olivia Palermo smells exactly like this in my head. It's fashionable, classy and exotic.
I can notice a good bit of ginger and definitely notes of apple blossom. It smells super fresh and crisp without a single hint of musk (sometimes musk is nice just not in the summer for me!) (as a side note, how horrible is the word 'musk'?)
The bottle is glass with the iconic white Diptyque label and black hardware. It comes in either 50ml or 100ml sizes and is available from Space NK.
Have you tried this? what other Diptyque products would you recommend?
