Never Forget

By Meachrm @BaseballBTYard
Today is a tough day for America.  Like many others, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing on that morning ten years ago.  The stories of sacrifice of everyday people on that day will last forever.  Americans are a very forward thinking people.  It's in our nature as a culture.  It's the reason we are the most prosperous nation in the history of Earth.
The silver liming in a day like today is that it stops that forward thinking temporarily and reminds us to look back on those who have sacrificed much so we can be doing the things we do today more easily.  The people who paved the way.  The people who mentored us.  The people who even gave the ultimate sacrifice.
I was not born a "baseball guy."  I am the product of the many hours of time put in by head coaches and assistant coaches on many levels,  many of whom didn't receive a dime in return.  I am a product of my parents and other family members and relatives who provided the car rides, gloves, bats, and spikes so I could play.
I have not thanked these people enough.  So, to all those who are responsible for me being where I am today ...
Thank you.
