Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel SPF 15 & Hydro Boost Night Concentrate – Review

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

Hi everyone,

I first heard rave reviews of these products from Olivia (who has sadly recently left Beautyheaven) a few months ago when I was lucky enough to meet her! She was raving about the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line and just how well it worked for her skin so when I was given the opportunity to trial some products from the line, I jumped at the chance.

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost line is the first line from the brand to contain ‘highly purified Hyaluronic Acid’. Hyaluronic Acid has really been one of the ‘it’ ingredients of the year as its able to hold 1000 times its weight in water which not only allows for more effective hydration of the skin but it then also leads to a overall better texture and complexion of the skin. The products follow a 3 step philosophy of Replenish (lost moisture), Rebuild (the skin’s natural protective shield) and Release (intense, long lasting hydration).

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel SPF 15 is the day cream/moisturiser from the line. Together with Hyaluronic Acid, Olive Extract is also a key ingredient used in the formula to provide the skin with hydration and ‘up to 5 times more moisture to dry skin over 24hrs.’ The inclusion of an SPF of 15 UVA/UVB is great because it means that if you forget to apply sunscreen one morning, you can be confident that you do have at least some sun protection through this product. The packaging is very sleek but solid at the same time and comes with a pump dispenser, making application easy. The Water Gel itself is tinted a light blue shade and has a very lovely, light scent. Its super light gel like texture means that only does the product blend onto the skin very easily but it absorbs into the skin incredibly fast and a little really does go a long way!

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Concentrate comes housed in a pot with a screw on lid. The product features a Progressive Release System of technology that releases moisture ‘continuously for a full 24 hours’ to replenish the skin’s hydration levels as you sleep. Another interesting feature of this Night Concentrate is that it contains Vitamin E enriched beads which burst as you apply the cream to your skin. Like the Water Gel, the texture is a very light gel cream and it also shares the lovely light scent and blue tint to the product. This is an amazing protect to use at night as it leaves your skin looking and feeling amazing when you wake up!

After over 6 weeks of use, I think these are one of the best moisturisers I’ve tried this year! Whilst it is very light on the skin texture wise, it provides so much hydration to the skin and leaves it soft and supple as well as combating any dry skin you may have. When applied, they have a slight cooling effect which is quite refreshing on the skin and you only need a small amount of each product per application because a little goes a long way. The product is so light that it just glides onto the skin and leaves absolutely no residue as its absorbed almost instantly and nor does it cause your face to look oily thanks to it’s oil free formula. Overall, they really delivers not only the hydration front but it visibly improve the complexion of the skin, leaving it smooth and plump as well as giving the skin an ‘inner glow’ and a healthier appearance. I would highly recommend the 2 products above!

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost range which contains 4 products in total can be purchased from Priceline and other Neutrogena Stockists. Both the Water Gel SPF 15 and Night Concentrate retail for $24.99.

Have you tried the Hydro Boost line?
