I am going to review a Tea Tree BHA serum from a brand called Neulii. Yes yes?this is a Korean brand and a wonder product for me and I think for all oily skin people. I am very excited to share with you guys once again a product from a new Korean brand. Controlling the excess sebum secretion is a major task and I have tried numerous products after seeing the words “mattifying”, “oil control”, “deep pore cleansing” written on them. And there were few which worked and a few which failed miserably. Let me give a quick overview of the brand then review this serum.
About Neulii
Neulii is a brand launched by a Korean online shopping site called RoseRoseShop. You can find here soooo many Korean skincare, makeup, body & hair, tools and cleansing products. And after all this, they have their own range of serums under the brand name “Neulii”. They have launched 5 different serums for five different skin issues. Their site ships products to all over the world and always have some offers going on.
What is serum?
The serum is basically a water based skin care product that is meant to moisturize your skin by penetrating deep into the skin. It is applied after cleansing the face and before moisturizing.

As always let me start with the packaging. I have so many good things to talk about?
Packaging:
It comes with an outer cardboard packaging where all of the details, ingredients and everything is written both in English and in the Korean language. I loved the fact that it’s written in English too. The serum comes in a transparent white plastic bottle with a pump. But bottle looks like it is made of glass but in reality it a plastic one. The pump is also of a good quality.
How is the consistency, smell?
This tea tree BHA serum has a runny consistency just like water but I felt a hint of stickiness to it. The stickiness goes away with few seconds after the application. It has a mixed smell of tea tree and chemicals.
The smell is not much pleasant but then after applying it over the face, the smell of this BHA serum disappears.
How do I use it and what is BHA?
It is mentioned that we have to use this after cleansing but before toning. But every morning I use this after toning the face. One to one and a half pump is more than enough to get the boost of hydration on your face. When you apply it you will feel the stickiness but then within 4-5 seconds the sticky feeling goes away and you will feel your skin matte, soft and moisturized. After using this BHA serum I don’t feel the need for applying any moisturiser . So I follow it up with my Lotus 3-in-1 sunblock( Read detailed review here– LOTUS HERBALS SAFE SUN 3-IN-1 MATTE LOOK DAILY SUNBLOCK SPF-40 REVIEW )But if I am using foundation then I use both serum and moisturiser.
And this serum has BHA which is really a savior for oily skin. It is very important to use sunscreen immediately after using any product that contains BHA. Because BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) exfoliates the skin making the skin photosensitive( sensitive to sunlight). So since this is a BHA serum it penetrates deep into the pores breaking down the oils and at the same time it provides hydration to the skin.
Does it work as per its claims?
This Tea Tree BHA serum claims to arrange sebum control and dead skin cells to prevent skin trouble. So let me tell you guys one by one if it really controlled the oil.
It really does what it claims. It keeps my oil at bay for a good 3 hours. I did notice something here. At night I just use the serum and not my SPF. So when I am not layering it up with a sunscreen this Tea Tree BHA serum keep my face oil free for 4-5 hours. Like seriously I couldn’t find any traces of oil around my T-zone for good 4-5 hours. But during the day when I apply sunscreen after serum, I could notice some traces of oil after 3 hours. Overall this serum works well when it comes to oil control. I was smitten by its hydrating power and the way it controlled my oil.
The only thing which I didn’t like about this is that alcohol is mentioned on their ingredient list? But I have been using this for almost 25 days or so and I didn’t feel any dryness or breakouts because of this serum. And this Tea Tree BHA serum has tea tree which again works wonderfully as an anti-bacterial agent. So BHA cleanses the pores by breaking the oily substance and removing the dead cells, and tea tree help in preventing bacterial growth.

Final Verdict
If you are ok with alcohol in the ingredient list then you must definitely try this. This is their best selling serum and I loved it a lot. It does what it claims. Controls excess oil secretion and at the same time deeply hydrates the skin.
