Nepal players celebrate a goal

Nepal secured their place in the final of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-17 Tournament when they trounced Sri Lanka 6-0 in the semi-final encounter played under lights at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo yesterday.
Nepal opened the scoring in the 21st minute through a penalty from Skipper Prashant Laksam and they added three more goals before half time with Unesh Budathoki (22nd minute), Subash Bam (30th minute) and Niraj Karki (37th minute) scoring.
Sri Lanka, of course put up an improved performance after the turnaround while conceding only two goals to their opponents. Unesh Budathoki was able to score his second goal of the match in the 51st minute while substitute player Sijal Rai added the sixth goal in the 89th minute.
Earlier, India defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the first semi-final of the tournament after the scores were 0-0 at half time. The final between Nepal and India will be played on Wednesday at the same venue.
