St. Louis rapper Nelly was arrested over the weekend. A state trooper pulled over the Nelly’s tour bus Saturday morning because it wasn’t displaying the U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association stickers. The officer “noticed an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle” and decided to conduct a search.

That’s when cops found a baggie with “five colored crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia” in the sleeper area of the bus. The search also turned up several handguns including a .50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, a .45-caliber Taurus pistol, and a .500 Smith & Wesson magnum.

Nelly was booked for meth and misdemeanor marijuana possession, as well as for drug paraphernalia. According to cops, there were also 100 small Ziploc bags commonly used for the sale of drugs.

However, Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, told CNN that the drugs found weren’t his and that 15-20 people had access to the bus prior to the stop.

Rosenblum added that he is “extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.”
