Neil Young’s PonoPlayer to Offer “Master-Quality Digital Music”

Posted on the 12 March 2014 by Nrjperera @nrjperera

Main selling point of the PonoPlayer is its’ high quality sound technology which claims to offer “master-quality digital music at the highest audio fidelity possible.” This is way beyond our 256kbps MP3s. As a result of the high quality, the music will come out in larger files. According to Mac Rumors the PanoPlayer features 128GB of memory, enough to store 100 to 500 high resolution albums. It will also have its own PonoMusic service as well.

This could be a worthy iPod competitor, but sadly it’s too late to jump into the music player game. Besides, I never felt the need to listen to high quality songs, 256kbps was more than enough for me since the sound always came out of tiny earpieces. Young’s PonoPlayer will hit production after a Kickstarter funding, which is scheduled to go live this week.
