Neemrana by Night

Neemrana Fort PalaceI left you all yesterday with the first tastes and glimpses of India, and our first full day beginning to set along with the sun. Now as the sun was setting the warmth from the day was beginning to disappear equally as quickly, so on with a few layers and back out onto our private little balcony area to drink in all the early evening beauty and try to catch on camera that magical flickering hour of twilight.  The beautiful thing (another beautiful thing, I know) about Neemrana is that because it is formed from rock it drinks in all the sun’s energy throughout the day and at night it breathes it out. Thus, you can sit back against the wall and feel quite comfortably warmed, brilliant. And that is of course exactly what we did. Before deciding you did actually need another layer. Beautiful isn’t it? And it’s amazing to think, and try to even fathom that it was built all those hundreds of years ago.
