NE Blogger Spotlight #2 | Carli from The Tea BeeAfter getting such a great reaction to my Meet The NE Bloggers post, I decided to spotlight some of the bloggers featured so here's number two! Everyone meet, Carli from The Tea Bee!
1. How long have you been blogging for & how did you originally come across the whole blogger-sphere? I have been blogging for little over a year but really been maintaining a schedule for the past 4 months. I originally came across the blogger-sphere way back when when I had my own little web space which is greatly embarrassing where I used to write about 14 years ago when I was playing in between neopets. When I became a full-fledged adult and it was acceptable, I got back into reading blogs a few years back. You know the ones with actual image instead of emo lyrics and calling people munchkin’s (don’t ask) I found a few blogs and it really spiralled from there.
2. Who are your main inspirations when it comes to blogging? Let us know your favourites! My inspiration changes all the time. I get inspired by different aspects of many different blogs. I love The Londoner for images and and have totes life envy. I am inspired by A Beautiful Mess' colourful posts and recipes. I love WishWishWish for all them damn fashion posts. My current monthly favourites are Coco’s Tea Party, The Betty Stamp, Positively Flo, Hannah Gale, Lauren’s Looks - and you my sweets, Thumbelina Lillie!
3. What genre do you love writing about most and why? I love to write about food! Oh my! Whether it be a recipe, a review or just a yummy piece of pie it gets me… right there. I put my blog in the Lifestyle category. With owning my own independent business I feel really lucky that I can write about almost everything and anything. All things that I am passionate about without being limited. But it always comes back to food. I can tell you how to cook up, bake up and brew up a storm. The words just fall from my fingertips without even a second thought. I am not too sure why. I guess it’s because I feel that food is such a personal thing. It’s a great gift. It’s not just something to fill you up, it is about sharing and offering, that someone can cook for you or bake for you and it’s THEIR time that has gone into that special dish. I guess I am just thanking people when writing my food posts and shows my appreciation.
4. If you could showcase one of your posts that you are particularly proud of, which would it be and why? Now this is a toughy. I have always been super proud my first ever post as it sort of wasn’t meant to be made public.http://www.theteabee.com/2014/06/wynyard-hall-afternoon-tea_22.html#.VfX9skLN70cI wanted to set up blog and have a good few posts under my belt before I started sharing with my nearest and dearest but it sort of didn’t end up that way. I was thrusted into the internet a day after my first post and it sort of snowballed from there. Considering I have never used a camera, edited or even really wrote properly before, it wasn’t all that bad.. considering it went out to around 11,000 people.
5. What’s been some of the highlights of your blogging experience? It has given me some ‘me’ time. A place that is my own and that I can just type away and get a little bit of myself out there. My blog iniitally was somewhere that I could pop up my recipes so when a customer asked I could send the the link instead of typing it out all the time. From then to now it has just grown into something that I can make little bit of pocket money from which is always a blogger bonus. I have made some of the best friends ever, I know how cliche! But I really have. I have been able to meet similar people who are just as geeking as me. People who I can call friends and chat to about who has contacted me or my recent statics or new affiliates. The experiences, products and opportunities have just made the last year super awesome too.
6. Where you do you see your blog going in the future? What’s in store for The Tea Bee? I LOVE to blog. I LOVE to write. It would be a dream to split tea lady duties into just that and blogging. I have done a little bit of writing for brands and guest blogging which has given me some super exciting opportunities and would love work with brands and independents to set up blogs and steer them into a new blogging direction of their companies.
7. Finally, let us know your top three teas. Give us all something new to try!
My favorite top three teas are... Duchess Earl Grey - a delish citrusy flavor with hints of lime. Perfect without milk and yummy morning pick me up. Yorkshire Tea Gold - This is my favorite of favorite. Nothing beats a good old brew and this really hits the spot. I like it with a touch of milk and no sugar. Mango - This is a super refreshing black infusion. Packed full of flavor and real mango pieces. I could drink this all day long!Megan. xoFacebook  - Twitter - Instagram - Bloglovin - YoutubeCheck out my September advertiser - Pretty and Polished!
