MUSIC STARS ENDORSE 9/11 DAY OF PRAYER
Charlie Daniels, Jason Crabb on board for call to repentance

Daniels spoke with WND about Founder and CEO Joseph Farah’s effort to organize the National Day of Prayer and Repentance on Sept. 11, 2013, and had this to say: “I wish everybody who has anything to do with the media would do the same thing.
“I am very much with you,” he told WND, “and every day is a day of prayer for me. A lot of people pray for America, but to put a focal point on it, to unite people behind it, to let them know they’re not by themselves, there are millions of people out there doing the same thing … I’m very much in agreement with it. My hat’s off to you for doing that.
“You know, God is in control of [America],” Daniels continued. “If He decides He’s going to shut it down, He’s going to shut it down. 2 Chronicles does say, ‘If my people called by my name repent of their wicked ways and pray, I will hear from heaven and heal their land.’ That’s a promise from the Creator of the universe.”
Crabb took his endorsement one step further when he agreed to serve on the Special Advisory Council for the “9/11 Day of Prayer and Repentance” being observed next week nationally. In accepting the appointment to the special committee, Crabb joins a select group of high profile nationally recognized Christian influences that includes Congresswoman Michelle Bachman, Pastor Greg Laurie, actor Chuck Norris and singer Pat Boone, among others.
Crabb told WND: “I’m extremely honored to be involved with the ’9/11 Day’ call to prayer and repentance, as I firmly believe and preach from the concert stage each night that America’s only shining hope is a return to God in the midst of these dark times. I pray this event will help encourage individuals and churches alike to take the time to honor God next week in the observance of the anniversary of September 11.”
In noting the announcement of the latest addition to the Special Committee, Joseph Farah noted: “Jason Crabb is a young American who authentically embodies the principals on which the day is based – a recognition of the desperate need for America’s return to God and a passion for encouraging others through both his witness and example to follow God in prayer and action. We’re extremely honored with his willingness to participate.”

The “9/11 Day of Prayer & Repentance” is a movement that began in April as an editorial column that appeared at WND.com written by WND CEO and Founder Joseph Farah.
Within days of its appearance, the response came from thousands of readers wishing to enlist themselves and their families, church groups, Bible studies and neighbors in the call to prayer and repentance.
Overwhelmed by the outpouring, Farah noted about the “9/11″ call to action: “When America was founded 237 years ago, fellow believers fought to establish and protect the role of God in the fabric of our country. We are a nation originally built on and by prayer. Today, as Christians, we can look around and readily see that our beloved homeland is tragically broken and our culture is breaking down and dramatically moving away from God. Those of us who understand the challenges we face for the very survival of America as we have known it as one nation under God must start planning now to do something radical.”
That something is the 2013 nationwide day of prayer and repentance.

Just a few days earlier, Carl Gallups, author of “The Magic Man in the Sky” and the coming WND Books release “The Rabbi Who Found the Messiah,” endorsed the events.
“I am passionately supporting Joseph Farah’s call to our nation,” Gallups said at the time. ” America is on the precipice of no return. We must act now or forever lose the precious gift of freedom bestowed upon this nation by the Creator of the universe. This truth is ‘self evident.’ The signs of God’s judgment are upon our land. Of that fact there can be no denial.”
He said the choices America has made are alarming.
“We … have destroyed the lives of tens of millions of American babies. In the same year the Supreme Court declared abortion to be legal (1973), we passed the Federal Endangered Species Act. In that year we declared that a turtle’s nest and a turtle’s egg were more precious and sanctified than a human baby within its mother’s womb,” Gallups noted.
He’s also concerned about the growing acceptance of same-sex marriage and the homosexual culture.
“Our Supreme Court has, in effect, declared that we do not know what constitutes a real marriage. Men are marrying men, women are marrying women, and our military and society at large are openly celebrating the sodomite lifestyle. The New Testament book of Romans, chapter one, declares that when these things happen it is a certain sign that God has ‘given them over to a depraved mind,’” Gallups commented.
Others who have joined in support include Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.; Chuck Norris; David Barton; Jonathan Cahn; Greg Laurie; and syndicated radio talk-show host Mancow Muller.
Farah says he made the call for the day of prayer out of a sense of frustration with politics and the decline in morality in the country. He suspects there is a connection between the revealing of national “sins” and the desire by believers to confess their own sins to God in unity with other believers.
Farah adds: “That’s what the 9-11-13 National Day of Prayer and Repentance is all about. It’s different from any other simple call for prayer. Mark the date – Sept. 11, 2013.”
