The Orbital Sciences Corporation Antares rocket, with the Cygnus cargo spacecraft left the earth on Sept. 18, 2013 to make a delivery run for the ISS. NASA has released this gorgeous infrared photo of the launch to show us how beautiful that moment was. The Rocket’s sole mission is to deliver about 1,300 pounds (589 kilograms) of cargo, including food and clothing, to the Expedition 37 crew.

NASA has stated several times that this is a “false color infrared image.” Even though it’s still the most beautiful rocket launch photo I’ve ever seen.
