🏰 History
- Built in 1963 during the reign of King Mahendra
- Served as the official residence of Nepal’s Shah kings
- The name Narayanhiti comes from:
- “Narayana” (a form of Lord Vishnu)
- “Hiti” (water spout)
👑 From Palace to Museum
- Nepal became a republic in 2008, ending the monarchy
- After that, Narayanhiti Palace was converted into the Narayanhiti Palace Museum
- It is now open to the public
