People do not just use locks to protect valuables. They also hang them on bridges and gates to leave a trace of their presence. More often than not, they bear the names of couples.
That is probably the reason why there are so many of them in Paris!
Thira was the last place where I would expect to see locks. And yet, their presence made my visit unique. While other people were busy taking selfies, I came up with several stories about love in different places and cultures. It was a very interesting experience.
