Story: Napoleon Dynamite starts when socially awkward high school student Napoleon (Heder) struggles to fit in high school. He gets to make friends with new kid Pedro (Ramirez) and equally as awkward Deb (Majorino) as they prepare for a school dance.

Elsewhere, Napoleon’s brother Kip (Ruell) gets drawn into helping their Uncle Rico (Gries) make money. Meanwhile, Napoleon looks to help Pedro run for student president and make a change at the school.

Verdict on Napoleon Dynamite

Napoleon Dynamite is a comedy that follows the lives of a couple of high school students. They come together to deal with the latest year of high school while remaining the outsiders within the school.

This is an old-ball comedy that relies on the dry wit created throughout. It won’t be for everyone, as a lot of the comedy is kept in a deliberate style that won’t always click. Meanwhile, the story is more about friendship than typical high school comedy.

Final ThoughtsNapoleon Dynamite is an oddball comedy with a massive cult following.
