Some of you may have already noticed that I’ve again altered the title at the top of this blog. At the time of writing this, it reads ‘OP-J’ and I may well play around with header images and more at a later date to create something more than a few characters of text.
I’ve been feeling as though naming this blog after myself has been a little bit too ‘obvious’ and, over on my Facebook page, it’s become complicated with the addition of the ‘ ‘ Blog‘ added to the end of that. It’s a mouthful and I’m looking to keep things simpler. Facebook still won’t allow me to edit my page – it just ceases to respond whenever I click those particular buttons.
I feel it would be hard to create one heading that covers everything this blog is and will be about – isn’t that what sub-headers are for? – but another idea I had was to rename this ‘Olly Writes’; to paraphrase the former title of Frank Howarth’s outstanding YouTube channel (Frank Makes). But I haven’t yet started ‘writing’ on here in the way that I intend to (creative writing and short fiction) once I take a break from woodworking this winter.
This blog is about me and my interests. Things I would like to share. I’m not currently looking to ‘brand’ myself in any way but if you have any thoughts of your own (even if you dislike the idea) then it would be great to hear from you in the comments. I’m looking to do more with photography, walking, writing and hopefully some travel but I don’t want to distance myself too far from the woodwork and DIY topics that have made this blog what it is.
Olly Works? The Rambling Writer? Wrambling? The Wood Rambler?
Perhaps I could reconsider ‘Life as Olly’, which was a short-term experiment last year on a separate URL.
