Venetian artist Livio De Marchi has transformed his world into wood. It’s like the Midas touch, but instead of gold, the objects that De Marchi touch turns to wood. Undoubtedly he is a very talented sculptor.

My personal theory is that Livio was in fact Pinocchio as a child and misses being wooden so makes his world wooden. It’s just speculation but there may be an element of truth in it (although most likely there is not).

Also make sure you check out the video above, where De Marchi proves to be the only man who can drive his car in a flooded Venice – the word ‘drive’ may not be wholly accurate.
