My, What White Teeth You Have.

My, What White Teeth You Have.
In a celebrity obsessed world, I think everybody is searching for whiter teeth. For me, the main reason that I wanted to whiten my teeth was so that I felt more confident with them, and could wear the lip colours that I wanted to ( site some of them seem to highlight the yellow tones). I read up a lot before actually purchasing anything since I didn't want to damage my teeth and decided on buying the Crest Whitestrips Professional Effects.
I got 10 days worth of pouches, or 20 strips from a seller on eBay for £20. Whilst I think that this is quite a lot of money for these, I didn't go for some of the cheaper sellers side I wanted to make absolutely sure that the seller was genuine. When you open the packet you get two strips stuck on a bit of plastic which you then peel off and stick them to your teeth, leave them for half an hour and then peel them off again. The results that I have experienced with these haven't been as drastic as I was expecting them to be, and frankly a little bit disappointing. It may be because I already had pretty white teeth but I didn't find that they made a massive difference to the whiteness of my teeth and I probably could have saved my money. I know there are a lot of rave reviews for these things over the internet but I think that they probably make the biggest difference when your teeth are quite stained, so these definitely aren't for everyone.
I also recommend adding and taking things out of your everyday routine to help keep you teeth looking pearly and white. A number of factors can take a toll on your teeth, making them loose their sparkle and drop a shade or two on the whiteness scale. One of the most important things to avoid is drinking excessive amounts of tea and coffee, which can significantly stain your teeth over time. To combat this I would recommend cutting down on the amount that you drink, and when you do, try and drink it through a straw. It does take a bit of getting used to at first but after a while it just seems like normal! Other than that, try and use a tooth-paste and mouthwash specifically for whitening to make sure that you keep your smile white, and whilst it may not make them whiter, they do definitely stop you from getting stains in the future. Look for ingredients like Baking Soda as this is a natural teeth whitener and products specifically marketed as teeth whitening because they will have special formulas and are often stronger.
What are your whitening tips? Are you always searching for pearly whites?
