I got the idea for this post after a recent phone conversation with a friend who is also an avid home cook like myself. If you cook often, then most likely there are certain essential go-to tools that you always reach for. I like tools that make life easier and improve efficiency. As with everything else in life, my approach in the kitchen is about quality over quantity because you can't go wrong with high performance tools that you get a lot of use from and well made tools that are built to last are worth the investment. Functional basics like knives and cookware should be the focus and I would actually recommend against specialty tools or appliances unless you will be using them regularly otherwise it's just a waste of money and space.
