Thanksgiving is a wonderful time. The family all gathers, the food is plentiful, and everyone talks about what they are thankful for. More than that, Thanksgiving tends to be one of the only times of year that we truly feel gratitude. Some years are so good I can literally feel it bubbling up inside of me to the point where I may explode if I don't squeeze the life out of a loved one. We have so much to give thanks for. If you are merely reading this, you obviously have so much to be thankful for, like access to technology and literacy.
As another Thanksgiving passes, we go about our ways and may be tempted to leave the feelings of thankfulness on the shelf until they are dusted off next November. My challenge to my readers, and to myself, is to live every day with that magical feeling of Thanksgiving. While I certainly can't eat lunch every day like it's Thanksgiving, and I don't see my family all that often, a true and humble attitude of gratitude is something you can feast on all year long.
What are you thankful for? Those things last longer than Thanksgiving Day.
