My Paintings Are Up at Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe

By Billlives

I am very pleased to annouce that twelve of my paintings are now hangng for sale at one of my favorite New Orleans restaurants, Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe. It is located at 7801 Panola Street (504 314-1810) very near to where I grew up in the 1950s and not far from my current home. One of the many reasons I moved back to New Orleans was to devote more time to my art so having paintings hanging in my childhood neighborhood feels like coming full circle to me. I have enjoyed both breakfasts and lunches at Riccobono's. It is open from 7AM to 2 PM every day. You see the outside and interior below, along with one of my favorite dishes, their Eggs Ponchartrain, a variation on Eggs Benedict with crawfish. I am starting a painting of it.

Below you can see the paintings that we hung there. First, there is large scale shrimp poboy. Then in the next photo are five paintings: eggplants, tomatoes, and a pot of gumbo in the left within the photo. Across the top of the photo is a painting of Jon Cleary performing at Chi Wah Wah and an acoustic bass player from this year's Bayou Bogaloo. The next photo shows four paintings across the top above the cats. They depict details from New Orleans streets and architecture. There is a storm drain, the street tiles on my street - Leonidas (I will paint the tiles on your street on commisson), a roof top ventilator cap shown during the day and another at night. In the bottom right is a white pitcher with onions, garlic and potatoes and a blue pitcher with butternut squash soup. I hope you get a chance to enjoy some of their great food and see my paintings soon.

I also an artist with the Arts Council of New Orleans and participate in their monthy art market. These markets occur generally on the last Saturday at Palmer Park in New Orleans, at the corner of S. Carrolton and S. Claiborne. Saturday October 26 is the next market and I will have a booth and offer other paintings for sale.
