Gone are the days of the “plain jane” drugstore where you’d go only if you needed an emergency carton of milk or Neosporin and band-aids. Who knew, CVS is a mecca for all things beauty (from your favorite name brand cosmetics to top skincare products) – and, to my bargain-loving surprise, at really great prices.
I recently discovered this as my shameless procrastination for a Mother’s Day gift mixed with my sheer lack of gift shopping creativity recently took me to CVS. As I pulled into the parking lot (silently cursing myself and lazy factor), I figured I’d be leaving with a collection of lame toiletry products and an even lamer potholder set. Two hours later, I had an awesome compilation of gifts my Mom is going to be super stoked about! I was blown away by the product selection. From skincare products, to cookbooks, to gardening goods, to worthy gift sets – CVS is most definitely not just a basic drugstore that offers milk, bread, and toilet paper. And the best part? I learned that I can return any makeup item I buy if I don’t like the color or product. (What? Might as well shop for myself while I’m gift shopping for mom, right? This no-fuss return policy is definitely a deal-sealer, as my graveyard of “thumbs-down” beauty products will soon need their own room.) So if you’re short on time this year, beauty mavens, or simply don’t have the creative gift-buying bone, hit your local CVS.
