Not actually my mother, who, God bless her, departed this life many many years ago, but the mother of the great Swedish painter Carl Larsson. In my family nobody takes any notice of Mothers Day, though this year my darling youngest gave me a pretty necklace, which was a really nice surprise. I'm perfectly happy about this, so don't feel sorry for me. But as mothers seem to have been so much in the air in the last few days I thought I'd share this very lovely picture with you.
