My “Holy Grail” Products

By Beautybliss @BeautyBliss14

I think every girl has their “Holy Grail” products they couldn’t live without and I am definitely no exception. I am one of those people who tend to stick to what they know and fear the dreaded thought of them ever being discontinued! I do step out of the comfort zone every now and again, but I usually find that I end up going back to what I know and love. So here they are..

First of all being the very popular but extremely cheap Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Yep, you already know about it, I’m sure everybody in the beauty blogging community does. But, in my opinion it is definitely worth the hype and for the price? You can’t go wrong. I love the consistency and the coverage of this little beauty and it rivals a LOT of the higher end brands with much higher price tags. It covers the nastiest of blemishes and blends nicely onto the skin. A dream come true for concealer addicts like myself. The price I hear you ask? £4.19 currently in boots. Don’t rush all at once!

Then follows something I have spoken about a lot before and it’s another high street product. Since my love for beauty products became more of an obsession, I steered towards high-end foundations, but this one seems to not be able to leave my makeup collection, since I first purchased it last year. You’ve probably heard a lot about this one too – the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation which is currently £8.99 in boots. Me and my best friend both use this and we both love it. It instantly does what it says on the tin and makes your skin look fresh and awake. It has tiny hints of shimmer to it, so some may dislike it purely down to that, but it doesn’t really bother me. In fact I actually quite like it as I suffer from a dull complexion regularly from being over tired. This foundation blends like an absolute dream onto my skin and I can easily build it up if in need of more coverage. The other brilliant thing about it, is that if I wear this on a night out, even without a primer, it will still be there, staying strong, even after dancing for hours. Really? Yep, really.

Another thing that I simply couldn’t live without is the MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Brunette, something I haven’t really raved about before. Why? I don’t actually know, because it’s something I use everyday – except for Sundays, which more often than not, is my slothing day. This is extremely easy to use, especially if you are in a rush, which is usually the case for me. It looks natural and not obvious at all that you have filled your brows in. I don’t really need to fill my brows in as I have bushy brows anyway (which desperately need to be sorted pronto) but I find that they look quite ashy and gray compared to my hair colour, so this pencil helps to give them a bit of a warmer shade. It is a roll up pencil, so no annoying sharpening required! This is currently £14 on the MAC website. Is it worth the money? I think so, but I must admit, I haven’t really searched for any cheaper dupes – yet!

Lastly is a very new product to my ever-growing collection, which is the Clarins Pore Minimizing Serum. Is it really as good as people say? Maybe not, but it definitely has helped my skin and I have noticed a significant difference. I have had troubled skin since I was about 13, not fun and certainly very annoying and I never really knew how to help or control it. Only recently (within the last year or two) have I started trying more pricey products, some haven’t done anything at all and some have – this is one of the good ones. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say “my skin is clear after using this – omg!” because, quite frankly it isn’t. BUT, I haven’t been getting any nasty breakouts or white heads, which used to be a regular occurrence. Something has changed and I believe it is from using this every night before moisturising. I still have blemishes, but my pores are more refined and my skin looks a lot calmer. Would I recommend it? I would, but when it comes to skin care, everyone is different. If you can face the thought of forking out £23 for a skin serum, go for it!

So, there you have, a few of my “go-to” products, that I don’t think I even want to consider living without! What are yours?
