My Evening Skincare Routine..

Skincare hasn’t really been on the top of my to do list up until recently! Since I’ve got a bit older, I’ve noticed that my skin isn’t as healthy looking as it used to be, so I’ve started investing my time and money onto skincare products and really concentrating on what products are the best for my skin!

To begin with, I use the Garnier Simply Essentials Makeup Remover and apply this onto a cotton pad and hold over my eyes for about 20 seconds. I give my eyes a gentle rub and most of my eye makeup is removed. I usually have to use two sides of the cotton pads on each eye with this as it doesn’t do a brilliant job of removing stubborn mascara or liner! I wouldn’t repurchase this as it’s not brilliant, but it does the job for the moment.

Next I use my Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm (yep, I jumped on the bandwagon with this one!) and apply it all over my face, following with a warm cloth to rinse off. I actually really love this product and I can see why it’s so popular. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean after I use it and I have noticed my skin clearing up – so that’s a nice bonus!

If I have been having a particular heavy makeup day and feel like I need a bit more makeup removal going on, I will use the Boots own Glycerin and Rosewater Toner. This is a product I have had for ages and always forget it’s in my stash, but I’ve recently been using it again and really love the way my skin feels afterwards. It’s guaranteed to remove any last traces of makeup and leaves your skin nice and soft afterwards, to the point where you almost don’t have to moisturise!

I have been experiencing really bad breakouts at the mo, so twice a week I’ll whack on the Lush Mask of Magnaminity face mask. This is a peppermint scent and smells gorgeous and really gives your skin that clean feel. I have noticed the breakouts calming down, so it seems to be doing the trick. I leave it on for about 5 – 10 minutes and wash off with a warm cloth.

Seeing as I do have spot-prone skin, I like to apply La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo all over my face. This product does have mixed reviews and sometimes I am a bit “meh” about it, but at the moment I am enjoying using it. I’m not sure if it’s the other products or this that is helping my skin, but it seems to be doing something anyway!

And finally, I apply the Soap & Glory Knight in Shining Armour night cream. This is so soft and silky and really makes my skin feel lovely, I apply it all over my face and neck and gently rub it. It acts as a brilliant night cream and I have noticed my skin looking better since using it.

So there you go, my evening skincare routine at the moment. It changes a lot, so I will update you on any products that change. Please do let me know what you like to use as I’m always on the lookout for new products!
