My Current 10 Mascara Wardrobe – Loves, Likes and Dislikes

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

It’s been about 6 months since my first Mascara Wardrobe post (in which I reviewed 15 mascaras I had been using at the time – yes, 15 mascaras open at once is a little ridiculous!) so I thought I would update you all on the 10 new mascaras I currently have on rotation.

Here are my thoughts on the mascaras I’m currently using!

Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious Volume + Length Mascara – This mascara was a part of a GWP I picked up and I was interested in trying it out as when it was first released, there was a lot of advertising for it. Unfortunately this mascara just didn’t work for me. I found it provides a finish that’s too natural and didn’t deliver on volume or length whilst also flaking.

L’Oreal Paris False Lash Superstar Mascara* – One of my very first mascara loves was a dual ended (mascara and primer) L’Oreal one in a red and white tube but they sadly stopped making it. This new mascara and primer duo is absolutely amazing, delivering volume, lots of length and all day staying power. I’m all for lash primers because I think they really do make such a difference and this one is a real winner!

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara* – My first foray into Marc Jacobs’ mascaras, I was really impressed with this product! The mascara has a slightly thicker, almost gel quality about it which allows it to perfectly coat and each every lash, instantly providing not only volume (from root to tip) but also quite a lot of length which I wasn’t expecting! It lasts perfectly throughout the day.

Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Black Pearl Mascara* – I absolutely love the original (click here for a full review) and have gone through a couple of tubes of it so I excited to see how this one would differ. This formula builds on fabulous original one and provides a slightly glossier finish to the lashes but I cant say I notice a more fanned out effect with this one as opposed to the original.

Thin Lizzy All Day Flexi Mascara* – If you like a very natural look to your lashes, this mascara may be the one for you. The mascara features a spiral brush head and the formula provides a barely there touch of mascara which provides definition and just a touch of length. I use this mascara on my lower lashes as I prefer more impact on my upper lashes.

Rimmel London Super Curler 24hr Volume and Curl Mascara – Promising volume, definition and a lasting curl, I found that the formula and curved brush helped separate the lashes and provide volume at the roots moreso than the lengths of the lashes themselves. I do still have to use a lash curler with this product as I prefer a little more lift than the mascara alone delivers but it’s a great volumising yet natural looking mascara.

Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara* – I first tried this mascara over 2 years ago and it is still as amazing as it was back then! It is definitely one you need to try if you’re looking for separation, volume, length and staying power. I have a full review here.

Maybelline New York Pumped Up Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara – Featuring a very large brush, this mascara provides a great amount of volume and length, building up well. I find that it doesn’t clump the lashes and actually leaves the lashes quite wispy looking when only 1 coat is applied. However, to achieve the lash look I prefer, it does take a couple of coats.

It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumising Mascara* – This mascara from It Cosmetics makes it 2 from 2 in my book of winning mascaras. The simple brush actually delivers amazing results with the deep black formula and even with just one coat, lashes are longer, thicker and lifted. It can get a little too dramatic so dont build it up too much (and it honestly doesn’t need more than a coat or two). However, if you love big, bold lashes, this mascara is for you!

Maybelline New York The Colossal Go Extreme! Leather Black Mascara* – This mascara features the same brush as the Pumped Up Colossal Volum’ Express so you do have to be a little more careful during application (to not smudge it onto your lids). The formula is slightly thicker and it coats the lashes wonderfully, providing volume and length instantly, with just 1 or 2 coats needed! It also lasts all day without flaking or smudging.

What are some of your favorite mascaras?
