My Cozy TV Night In Essentials & A Golden Milk Recipe

My Cozy TV Night In Essentials & A Golden Milk Recipe | Dreamery EventsThe chill of Fall has definitely set in. As much as I don’t like it, it means more time indoors, where we’ve begun to crave comfort more again. But is there really a better way to enjoy a brisk night then cozying up to watch your favorite shows. With so many really great shows out there now, I’m somewhat glad for the change in season to relax and recharge while catching up on good television. I just wish i didn’t last months, but thankfully I’ve got a list of shows I can’t wait to watch to get me through this cold.

Fall is the season to cuddle up and binge watch your favorite flicks, and not just on your television, but with streaming services on your computer and phone. So your Netflix binge can be done anywhere in the house. Which is why it’s essential to have great wifi connection. Because the last thing you want is for your computer to freeze or not have TV connection just when you’re about to find out who the murderer is. Luma is the first surround and secure wifi system, customized to your home. Together, they created a fun print customized with my Fall streaming must watch list.

Timeless is only two episodes in, and I’m already hooked. If you know me and my obsession with Outlander, you know I love a good time travel and historical piece. The “what if” of what would happen to the future if history changed keeps you in suspense, but so are the characters and the reasoning for going on their mission.

If you haven’t heard of Narcos, then you probably haven’t heard of Netflix. But all you need to know is Pablo Escobar, and all the absolute madness. I need to find some time to finish season two.

You’re used to seeing pretty wedding posts and desserts on the blog, but this girl loves her action and gore, and anything taken place in another time in history! So happy Vikings is coming back early this year, because with this long GOT break I need an intense war show to hold me over.

Stranger Things spread like fire. I’ve heard so many amazing things about it, especially the young teens’ acting.

I’m missing the glamour of Downton Abbey, so I’m really looking forward to The Crown. It only premieres on November 4th, but I’ve seen it recommended on almost all fall TV must watch lists. I already can’t wait for the gowns!

All hail the return of Gilmore Girls! I’ve been needing a good, drama free, show after Parenthood, so I’m loving This Is Us, have you been watching? It really tugs at your heart strings. But as a Gilmore Girls fanatic, you could imagine my excitement when I heard of the return. November is fast approaching and I’ve got to catch up on all seven seasons.

If you’re a snacker, small bites are essential when spending the night chillaxing {yes I know it’s not a word}. Quickly whip up one of these popcorns, or if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me, a mug cake.

A comfy blanket, fuzzy socks for my constantly cold feet, a woodsy smelling candle, and warm golden milk, these are my cozy TV night in essentials.

Now that I’ve got my Fall television watch list and essentials, all that’s left to do is curl up on the couch with Marley, turn on the boob tube and relax…

Sooo this golden milk…..Have you been seeing it everywhere? Did you happen to look up what it is…well for starters turmeric is having its moment and is a super herb. It’s used in several Middle Eastern dishes, but has a number of health benefits, like easing inflammation, and increasing circulation, as well as protecting the heart and brain. Talk about an herb being powerful! I love using it in the Fall especially, because it adds a subtle comfort to dishes like stewed vegetables. But I’ve been seeing golden milk everywhere that it had me curious to make myself a mug.

Let me tell you that I now love golden milk! It’s quite spicy but oh so comforting good! I loved treating myself with almond milk hot chocolate at night before, but the caffeine always made me stay up a little late, and this golden milk doesn’t. The ingredients like milk and honey actually aid in sleeping. But it’s not just to cuddle with at night, it makes a great afternoon tea, or morning iced latte. It makes you feel the comfort you want when relaxing and watching movies, while still feeling healthy. If you’ve never had turmeric blended with warm almond milk and spices, oh you’re in for a real good treat.

I made a latte version of the golden milk, and I love this caffeinated version even more. I often brew my coffee with ground cinnamon, so I love a good spiciness to my coffee. But I will warn you that if you don’t like cinnamon, I’m not sure golden milk is you, but definitely try it out!

Golden Turmeric Milk

Ingredients {Makes 1 serving}

1 cup – Milk, of choice {I used Almond Milk}

1/2 teaspoon – Ground Turmeric

3/4 teaspoon – Ground Ginger

3/4 teaspoon – Ground Cinnamon

1/4 teaspoons – Vanilla Bean {spilt + scraped}

Honey, to taste

Recipe

In a small saucepan, add all the ingredients and whisk until combined. Heat over medium high and whisk continuously until it begins to foam without reaching a boil. When the thickness is to your liking, remove from heat and pour into a mug. Serve warm or iced.
