Now, it's time for a little 31st Birthday Weekend recap :)
*Thursday: We started the day out thinking that we would be leaving right away on Friday morning. But then work got in the way! ;) This evening it was so nice out we grilled burgers and had dinner on the deck, I marveled at my pretty birthday pedicure, and Avrie pulled out her biggest and bestest cheeser! haha
[fun w/ the app #ABeautifulMess... wish it was available on Android!] Lana also drove down on this night so that she could be here right away Friday morning and we would be able to leave any time. It was a perfect and clear night out, so we had a good little bonfire to kick the weekend off right...
*Friday: With Aaron off to work, bright and early- Lana, Avrie and I had a little breakfast, then I spent the entire morning packing up [the entire house] for our weekend of fun at the lake. Lana hung out with Avrie playing with all of her favorite toys & watching her favorite shows on TV. Once Aaron returned home from work around 12:30pm I made lunch so that we could eat and hit the road!
[Avrie just hanging out, being adorable!]After a quick stop to the grocery store for all of our basic food and beverage needs, we arrived to the cabin around 4:30pm. Unloaded the car and setting up shop for the weekend is one of my favorite things to do- getting settled in and making ourselves feel at home. We decided that it was getting late enough where we would need to head out in search of some dinner before everyone else arrived. Aaron, Lana, Avrie and I found ourselves at The Waterfront on Grindstone Lake for green pepper rings, chicken fingers and pizza!
[i hope we got everything!] After we returned from dinner- Mom, Paul, Adam, Carrie and Bridget arrived. We had a good night hanging out prepping for breakfast in the morning, playing pool, playings cards and laughing [mainly at Paul] until well after midnight. I was sure to send Kevin "Chicken" my Birthday buddy a Happy Birthday text RIGHT at 12:00 midnight! Following that at 12:01am my sister was the first to wish me Happy Birthday!
[lana had her drinking hat on this night] *Saturday/ Birthday Day! 5.18.13: I woke up to morning snuggles with Avrie [the best!] and then we all enjoyed a REALLY tasty breakfast, compliments to Mom! We had a Ham Oven Omelet & a French Toast Creme Brulee Bake. Both were fantastic! The french toast bake tasted like Christmas morning! My beverage of choice, was of course, a mimosa- my favorite!
[DEEEEE-licious!] Since we woke up to rain, we pretty much spent the morning in the cabin just bumming around. Avrie's cabin fever had kicked in already as she just wanted to be out side "running around", riding on the four wheeler and pushing Kangy in the stroller. Everyone did a pretty good job distracting her until after lunch and nap time. During Avrie's nap time, a few of us drove into town to do a little bit of shopping. While in town the sun finally came out, so we only visited a couple of shops before getting back to enjoy the weather.
[taking in main street Hayward & stopping by the taffy shop!] Avrie was still sleeping so I spent a little time in the boat on the dock- soaking up the warmth in the air and the sun in the sky! It was also snack time so Bridget made an AMAZING dip that I WILL be making again next weekend! It's kind of like a taco dip but with ranch, bacon, BBQ, cheese and green peppers- YUM!
[ahhhh the lake...] Once Avrie was up from her three hour nap, I turned her over to Aaron so that she could finally enjoy the outdoors. Lana and I got dinner started. I made a Spaghetti Pizza bake for my birthday dinner. We had garlic bread and asparagus to go with it- it was the perfect meal!
[made me one of these to sip on while i whipped up din din] After dinner we all got ready to go out for the night. Bridget, Carrie and I had a little fashion session trying to decide on "what to wear" that Lana was less than impressed with and wasn't afraid to let us know. Lana voted on everyone wearing UA and after seeing a few of our outfit choices she said (the quote of the weekend!) "I'm gonna be honest... I am not enjoy myself at all..." and then she exits the room! hahahahhaaha She cracks me up! She went out with the boys on the boat while Bridget, Carrie and I stayed back giving us ONE hour to get ready!
Avrie hung out with Grandma E while I got ready. She also got a makeup lesson from Auntie Carrie and Auntie Bridget- she LOVED that! After (just about) an hour the boys, and Lana, were back to crack the whip! Aaron and I put Avrie to bed- since Grandma E was already falling asleep herself.

Adam and Aaron took the boat- and since it was raining us girls weren't about to get in a boat to drive WAY across the other side only to ruin our hair and makeup! haha So, Carrie (our sober cab) drove us girls around the lake for the night.

After finding a parking spot "on tar" we walked into live music, but after a couple of drinks we decided that we just weren't feeling the crowd. We headed out to make our way back to Angler's Haven Resort. We popped into Waterfront for one drink before making to Angler's. Once to Angler's (with Montell Jordan blaring on Bridget's iphone) the boys were just walking up from docking the boat. If I haven't mentioned it before, Angler's is our favorite spot on the lake- they have the best late night "fishing report". The down side is that you can't spend TOO much time here because you will go broke- so it's always a good time for just a couple of drinks, some touch tunes and "to go cups" (only in WI).
[#MooseMangoLemonade *Mango Malibu *Lemonade and *splash of Cranberry Juice] We found ourselves back to the cabin about 1am (??) no one is really sure. We enjoyed dolla dolla bun chicken sammies & potato salad for a midnight snack and gathered around the patio table for some late night chat. Then it was off to bed- I had a GREAT birthday spent exactly how I like it, relaxed and with some of my very best friends!
[#love ...Aaron didn't want to take his hat off :P] *Sunday: As usual it's clean up and go home day. After breakfast we all worked to clean and pack up. The great thing about leaving this time is knowing that we will be back VERY soon! We will return for Memorial Weekend. I am hoping that with the extra day of cabin life- we will get to enjoy some nicer weather!
